 PDP Nri Ward II Members Of Senator Uche Ekwunife Movement Aggregate Support for Valentine Ozigbo



Interface with some party stakeholders in the ward


In furtherance of their determination as well as bottom top approach to support the PDP candidate, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo to achieve victory in the upcoming gubernatorial election, the members of Senator Uche Ekwunife movement in Nri ward II held a crucial meeting.


The meeting which was in accordance with the group's decision to enthrone purposeful leadership, transparent and accountable government was held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at the residence of Mr. Nnamdi Dueze in Nri, Anaocha LGA of Anambra state. 


Welcoming the members of the group, the host who is also the Coordinator of Senator Ekwunife noted that Ozigbo is the only candidate who could pilot the affairs of the state, saying that with the level of grassroots acceptance of the PDP that victory is assured. He commended Ekwunife for her dedication towards the success of the PDP, adding that Ndi Anambra would massively vote for Ozigbo, according to him the PDP has the best candidate amongst others.


In his remarks, the PDP Chairman of Nri ward II, Mr. Chijioke Okonkwo commended Ekwunife for her commitment, dedication and sacrifices towards the progress of the party, noting that her unrelenting efforts to return the PDP back to Agu Awka serves as great motivation especially for the group. He vowed that the group would continue to drive Ozigbo's agenda, adding that by the grace of God Ndi Anambra would witness the swearing-in ceremony of the PDP candidate as the next governor.


Mr. Okonkwo urged Ndi Anambra to queue behind the PDP, noting that the party has an implementable blueprint to transform the state and simultaneously develop all the key sectors of the state economy.


In his speech, a PDP Anaocha LGA ex officio, Mr. Emeka Okeke expressed his satisfaction with the momentum of the group, describing Ozigbo's candidature as a round peg in a round hole. He further noted that the Amesi-born ex President and CEO of Transcorp's wealth of experience and achievements are pointers that he is the best man for the revered office of the governor.


One of the special guests at the meeting was Hon Valentine Ayika, a former member of the House of Representatives and two-time state lawmaker.


Speaking at the gathering, Hon Ayika noted that there is an aura of inevitability that Ozigbo would be announced the winner after the November 6 governorship election. According to him, as proud citizens of a democratic nation we bear both the privilege and burden to exercise our franchises and make choices that will affect the future of the state and Nigeria at large.


The former lawmaker assured members of the group that Ozigbo's administration would be all inclusive. He emphasised the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure victory for PDP, noting that the party's victory at the polls would put an end to maladministration in the state.


On his part, Mr. Nonso Ofozoba described the group as a change agent, saying that part of their strategy which focused on grassroots mobilization would yield a positive result for the PDP. He encouraged Ndi Anambra to put faith in the PDP while assuring that Ozigbo would foster sterling development in the state.


Mr. Ofozoba, a community leader who doubles as the head of Senator Uche Ekwunife Liaison Office, Awka appreciated the quintessential Senator for her giant strides on the floor of the senate and unflinching show of commitment to ensure that PDP wins the gubernatorial election. "For the love of Senator Ekwunife we will not leave any stone unturned in our bid to enthrone a government that will work for the best interest of the state", he concluded.
